Climax and Nielsville, Minnesota
For this stream-lined MnDOT project, Landmark completed file reviews of high and medium risk sites along Highways 75 and 220 in Climax and Nielsville, MN and assessed the area during an in-depth Phase II Investigations. After identifying multiple contaminated areas along the construction corridor, Landmark implemented soil management activities during construction, which involved road and sidewalk replacement, stormwater drainage improvements and City utility work. Landmark worked to meet the schedules of MnDOT and all involved contractors so that construction could proceed without interruption, even when petroleum impacted soil was encountered. A total of 1,360 tons of petroleum contaminated soil was removed during the project.
