Minneapolis and Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Hennepin County plans to replace three bridges and associated roadways on West Broadway and Lowry Avenues in Minneapolis and Robbinsdale, MN. The County hired SRF Consulting Group, Inc. (SRF) to complete the design engineering for bridge replacement and road construction of the bridges. As a subcontractor to SRF, Landmark completed a Corridor Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of the properties located within 500 feet of the project area and a Pre-Demolition Hazardous Material Survey of the three bridges.
Landmark identified and prioritized the recognized environmental conditions (RECs) within the project area to determine its potential for contamination to the soil, groundwater, and/or soil vapor. A total of 14 RECs were identified including 2 high-ranked, 8 medium-ranked, and 4 low-ranked. Landmark recommended a Phase II Investigation for soil and soil vapor.
Hennepin County hired Landmark directly for completion of the Work Plan and Phase II Investigation. The Work Plan took into account the RECs, preliminary design and geotechnical investigation to address those RECs that have the potential to impact the project.
